Writing assignments, badges and points. Can you guess what's next? I doubt it!
2011 has been a year of big changes for SearchWarp, and there's many more changes on the way.
Writing assignments are now announced weekly. Sometimes a writer needs something to write about, and if you're wanting to exercise your writing skills, the weekly writing assignments are just the thing for you. If your membership allows you to post articles to SearchWarp, you will see the weekly writing assignments displayed in your control panel. More can be read about it here.
The mystery badges are earned by performing the regular tasks, but you don't know what those regular tasks are. For example, there are a few members who have already earned the "Worlds Collide" badge, and the "There, They're Their" badge. Do you have any idea how those badges were earned? Well, you'll have to figure it out!
Points are given out when a new badge is earned, but points are also given out for other things. Eventually there will be a hall of fame for points, but not for everyone individually. You'll have to wait for that to be unveiled, too.
There will be some features dissapear from SearchWarp in the near future as we plan on simplifying the website. If there are any features that you absolutely can't do without, please let me know. I would imagine the readers' club will be one of the first to go.
Since we've opened the home page up to all articles which are accepted on SearchWarp, some writers aren't getting as much time on the home page as they used to. We do have a few alternate websites which don't have such a quick rotation, and if you would like to have your articles posted on one of those sites, we'd welcome it. You may also recieve more readers from these sites as well. Just let us know.
Jean and I sincerely hope that you enjoy the changes we're making to the site. For a long time, it's been my passion to make SearchWarp serve its members in the best ways possible. With all the changes that have taken place this year, it's been solidified in my mind that SearchWarp is indeed a place where I belong. We hope you feel the same way.

Top-level comments on this article: (6 total)Man, I can't remember the last time I got me a badge...I think it was the time I rescued that raccoon from the flood...or was it the possum from the hay baler.Well, congratulations, then! You are only the second person to earn a badge on SearchWarp for posting an article, may it be the first of many.I guess it is one of those stealth badges...couldn't we get like a Hardees coupon for free onion rings too?
My referrals have been small the past few months. What is the reason for that Bruce? Is it because my articles are getting little attention lately? Or is everyone else experiencing the same?Yes, David, this isn't unique to you. Everyone on SearchWarp is experiencing the same drop in referrals. My hope is that these new features will bring in a lot more readers from within SearchWarp to make up for the loss of readers from outside of SearchWarp. An article seems to have a much shorter life than before. You can go from Page 1 to off the radar in a little over 24 hours, while it used to have a much longer life for reader perusals. If the number of writers has decreased shouldn't SW articles have a longer life?
Hi Bruce! As always good and fun stuff - thank you :-)
Good work Bruce! Keep going on...
SearchWarp is certainly the place where "everyone" belongs, only they don't know it yet Bruce. Not to worry I'm on the case and will get the word out the best I can, while at the same time keeping how I do this...top secret. Keep up the good work Agent Bruce

2011 really has been a big leap for SW, and a great one at that.
